Beta Cinema's 'Operation Napoleon' Sequel Scores Major International Presales
Beta Cinema has secured a series of key international presales for the upcoming Nordic conspiracy thriller, 'Operation Napoleon: Tears of the Wolf'. The film is currently in production across Finland, Iceland, and Germany, and has already generated significant interest from major distributors worldwide.
The sequel to the 2023 hit 'Operation Napoleon', which sold to over 40 territories, including the U.S. (Magnolia Pictures), is set to be a major release. The English-language film reunites the talented cast and crew of the original, including Vivian Ólafsdóttir, Jack Fox, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson. Returning to direct is Jyri Kähönen, known for his work on 'Trackers' and 'Bordertown'.
The story follows Kristin Jóhannesdóttir, a lawyer who finds herself entangled in an international conspiracy after being falsely accused of murder. Kristin and her team embark on a quest to uncover the legendary 'Tears of the Wolf', a hidden stash of Nazi diamonds from World War II. Their journey takes them across Iceland, Finland, and Germany, with key scenes set in Helsinki's wartime bunkers and the Finnish archipelago.
The production team behind 'Operation Napoleon: Tears of the Wolf' includes Anita Elsani and Alexander Klein from Germany's Splendid Entertainment, Kjartan Thor Thordarson from Sagafilm (Sweden and Iceland), and Eero Hietala and Sara Norberg from Take Two Studios (Finland). Elsani Film is also co-producing the film.
Sam Film will handle the theatrical release in Iceland, Splendid Film in Germany, and Cinemanse in Finland. Beta Cinema will present the first promo reel of the film at the American Film Market this week, showcasing the potential for a major international release.
