PTS Patch Notes v10.3.0 (1)
Fallen Banners
Two New Dungeons!
Two new dungeons are available for testing during the Update 45 PTS period. Coming in PTS week one, dungeons Exiled Redoubt and Lep Seclusa will be available.

Exiled Redoubt
The Albus family--once staunch proponents of peace and finding a diplomatic end to the Three Banners War--suddenly turned bloodthirsty. Whatever caused their change of heart sparked a movement that seeks to punish every soldier, the generals that command them, and the heads of the alliances themselves. The Albus family’s machinations started small, but their goal is total destruction.

Lep Seclusa
The Three Banners War impacted lives all across Tamriel and perhaps no one felt that impact more than the soldiers that fought and bled on the front lines. As the war dragged on, a growing number of veterans became disillusioned with the constant fighting and sought a means to end the conflict. One such individual is Orpheon the Tactician, the former battlefield emperor of Cyrodiil. Orpheon broke from his chains of allegiance and recruited despondent deserters into a fearsome army. Orpheon’s goal is to seize an Elder Scroll said to have the power to end the bloodshed. All that stands in his way are a handful of monks and moth priests sworn to protect the Scroll.

  • Exiled Redoubt and Lep Seclusa are 4-player dungeons which can be reached via West Weald and Hew’s Bane respectively.
    • Exiled Redoubt’s entrance is in eastern West Weald near Grey’s Hollow.
    • Lep Seclusa’s entrance is on the dock in Abah’s Landing.
  • Both dungeons include a Normal version in addition to a Veteran version. Each dungeon features challenging Hard Modes for each of their three boss encounters.
  • There are unique item sets, including two new Undaunted Monster Mask sets, only available within the Dungeons.
  • Unique Achievement awards are available for completing the dungeons, including the following:
    • Unique Skin
      • The “Tactician’s Gold Lattice” skin is available for those who complete both Exiled Redoubt and Lep Seclusa on at least Veteran difficulty and trigger the achievement “Fallen Banners Delver”.
  • Two unique Mementos
    • The Haunted Mirror of Introspection and Dust of the Conqueror’s Flame mementos are available to players who complete Exiled Redoubt and Lep Seclusa, respectively, on at least Veteran difficulty.
  • Unique Dye
    • Exiled Goldenrod is available for those who complete the “Fallen Banners Scout” achievement.
  • Several Titles
  • Unique housing items

Housing
New Homes
Two new homes are available to test during the Update 45 PTS cycle:

Shattered Mirror Isle

  • Scintillating islands and skeletons of long-forgotten beasts float amid Mirrormoor's luminous skies. Enterprising architects, step through a shattered mirror portal in Fargrave and finesse this osseous mass into a dazzling dimensional home.
  • This Notable home will be available for purchase later, but is currently available to test on the PTS.

Castle Skingrad

  • Count Calantius cordially invites a caretaker to maintain and decorate Castle Skingrad as he rides out to support his loyal citizens. This majestic castle stands just outside Skingrad, granting easy access to the city's amenities and nearby vineyards.
  • This Notable home will be available for purchase later, but is currently available to test on the PTS.

New Furnishings
In this update we’re adding a new furnishing type that allows you to control the weather states in your homes! It is a collectible furnishing that will be available to earn later this year.
The new weather control furnishing, Kynareth's Icon of Storm Control, can be tested on PTS by collecting it from the “The Homeowner’s Crate” in the “Fallen Banners Reward Furnishing Crate” which you collect from a PTS template character.
Also in this update, we are focusing on new structural furnishing recipes, achievement rewards, and new Master Writs.
37 new furnishing plans are being sourced in 5 places:

  • 9 new furnishing plans, which can be acquired via the Skingrad Reward Coffer, obtainable by completing the West Weald World Boss, Incursion, or Delve Daily Quests.
  • 6 new Mirrormoor themed recipes exclusive to completing Mirrormoor Mosaics.
  • 14 new Ayleid themed recipes can be found in West Weald, Gold Coast, and Blackwood from bonus loot when excavating antiquities of intermediate or higher difficulty.
  • Colovian Bed, Canopy Full can be obtained from monsters, containers, and more across West Weald.
  • 7 new Master Writ Furnishings, which can be purchased from Rolis Hlaalu.

7 new achievement furnishings are being added and can be unlocked or purchased after completing the prerequisite achievements:

  • 3 new achievement furnishings that can be purchased from the Undaunted Quartermasters, after completing the “Exiled Redoubt Vanquisher”, “Lep Seclusa Vanquisher”, and “Slayer of Death Itself” achievements.
  • 4 new trophy and bust furnishings can be earned from completing the Exiled Redoubt and Lep Secluse dungeons on normal and veteran difficulties.

Base Game
Map Improvements
The team has been looking for ways to improve ESO’s in-game map, with the intention of making it easier to understand and parse for both new players and veteran players alike. While there are still more changes we wish to implement in future packages, the first batch of quality-of-life improvements includes the following changes:

  • The Tamriel view of the map will now only show one Wayshrine per zone.
  • The Tamriel view of the map will now only show favorited and primary homes. You may still favorite as many homes as you’d like.
  • Dungeons and Trials will no longer be shown by default on the Tamriel view of the map, but can still be toggled on.
  • The Tamriel, Blackreach, and Aurbis views of the map now have a more catered filter list.
  • The ‘Wayshrines’ filter has been split into the following filters:
    • Wayshrines
    • Dungeons
    • Trials
    • Houses
  • If you have a focused quest, the quest’s ultimate location will now show on the Tamriel and Aurbis maps. If the ultimate location is on the ring of the Aurbis, the location will be shown on the appropriate symbolic location, like Clockwork City.
  • Quest indicators, group member indicators, and player indicators will now show on symbolic locations if said indicators are pointing to those locations.
  • The names of zones in the Tamriel view of the map will now appear as you zoom in.
  • When hovering over a Wayshrine, the name of the zone will now appear in the tooltip.

Converting Disguises to Collectibles
When completing certain quests that use a disguise, as part of the quest reward, you will now get a collectible that grants that appearance. If these quests have been completed already, then these collectibles will be automatically granted upon first login with the associated character. Below is a list outlining all current disguises that have been converted at this time. *
*Note: Not all disguises have been converted at this time.

Antiquity Leads Messaging Improvements
Now when you find a lead that is part of an antiquity, the final antiquity name is listed.

Updates to Initial Mount Speed
The team wanted your initial experience unlocking a mount to be more impactful, so we've made significant improvements to the speed of mounts prior to unlocking Major Gallop. The end result of these changes is that mounts will start out noticeably faster than they did previously, i.e. you are now much less likely to be overtaken on foot when mounted, while still ending up at the same speed (or very slightly faster at the top end). The details of these changes are:

  • Increased the base mounted speed bonus to 42%, up from 15%.
  • Major Gallop is now Gallop, and counts as a Minor buff instead of a Major buff. The multiplicative bonus of Gallop is now 15% instead of 30%.
    • Note: Due to the way that this bonus multiplies with base speed, this ends up being no change for fully trained mounts, or a very slight buff if you’re also using the Gifted Rider champion star. See below for more detail!

Here are the percent changes different folks can expect to see, as a percentage change from their prior speed:

  • Sprinting on a brand new mount: +19%
  • Sprinting on a trained mount: +13%
  • Sprinting on a brand new mount with Gallop: +5%
  • Sprinting on a trained mount with Gallop: No Change
  • Sprinting on a trained mount with Gallop and Gifted Rider: +1%

Starter Zone Refresh
The starter zones of Betnikh, Stros M’kai, Bleakrock, Bal Foyen, and Khenarthi’s Roost have all undergone a makeover, bringing them more in line visually with the detail of ESO’s recent additions such as West Weald or the Telvanni Peninsula.

These starter zones have received improvements to their terrain transitions, materials and lighting, and atmosphere. Signs and banners have been positioned to better highlight services (such as crafting or banking locations), and lighting has been adjusted to better define important paths and other areas of detail. With the addition of more organic clutter and props, various portions of the zones should feel a little less sparse and a little more lived in.

Craft (Green) Champion Point Stars Slotting Improvements
The following nine Craft (Green) champion stars no longer need to be slotted for you to benefit from their effects:

  • Meticulous Disassembly
  • Plentiful Harvest
  • Treasure Hunter
  • Rationer
  • Liquid Efficiency
  • Homemaker
  • Professional Upkeep
  • Infamous
  • Cutpurse's Art

These adjustments make it easier and more forgiving to engage with the Craft tree, and reduces the need to swap stars before specific activities. No more forgetting to slot Meticulous Disassembly before a big batch of resource refining!

Increased Mundus Stone Visibility on Character and Inventory UI Screens
We want to better convey the value of having a Mundus Stone Boon and where to find Mundus Stones.

To that end, we have:

  • Added a reminder about Mundus Stones to the Level 10 Level Up Rewards.
  • Updated the Mundus Stone Help Entry to be clearer and more direct about where you find them.
  • Added discrete sections for Mundus Stone Boons on both the Character and Inventory UI Screens.
    • If you reach level 20 without an active Mundus Stone Boon, the text here turns red to suggest that you should acquire one.

Prologue Quests – A Guild in Crisis
Join forces with Prince Azah of Sentinel to confront the ominous resurgence of the Worm Cult, whose shadowy attacks using devices known as Soul Reapers now threaten the Fighters and Mages Guilds. Gather old allies and delve into the darkness to uncover the horrifying truth behind their return.

To begin the Prologue Quests for testing, you’ll need to first obtain the free Crown Store Quest Item from the Quest Starters -> Prologue area titled “A Guild in Crisis”. Or you can venture to Daggerfall, Vulkhel Guard, or Davon’s Watch (depending on your Alliance) and find Prince Azah, royalty of the city of Sentinel and new student of the Fighters Guild.
Completing the Prologue Quests earns you the new pet, the Mind-Shriven Mudcrab.

Player Response Options – A New Way to Engage in Conversations with Story NPCs
There are now opportunities in some quests that provide a choice as to how you want to roleplay your character known as Player Response Options. While these options usually provide roleplaying choices on how to respond to characters and alter their responses, they can sometimes alter the course of a quest in unexpected ways.

Player Response Options display a special icon when a dialogue choice is available. Here are the types of dialogue choices you may encounter, in addition to the usual neutral voice response:

  • Kind: A supportive, compassionate, or amusing response to an NPC.
  • Grim: A darker, stern, sarcastic, or harsh response to an NPC.
  • Merciful: A charitable response to an NPC in dire circumstances.
  • Ruthless: A vengeful response to an NPC in dire circumstances.
  • Joker: A quip, ironic response, or comedic reply to an NPC.
  • Flirty: An amorous response toward an NPC.

Reaper Strikes – New Worm Cult Themed Encounters
Strange new devices, known as Soul Reapers, have begun to surface across Tamriel, coinciding with the resurgence of the Worm Cult. Engage in these events to rescue their sacrifices and thwart the Worm Cult’s growing threat. Successfully completing Reaper Strikes will unlock the ability to purchase a unique furnishing from the Achievement Vendor and collect fragments to acquire a new Skill Style.

Keep an eye out for these Reaper Strikes in locations where Dark Fissures once appeared throughout the base game of Tamriel.

Event- Crime Wave Mini-Event
The secret ingredient is indeed crime in this new mini-event, added to the pool of possible surprise events starting with U45. Crime Wave focuses on criminal behavior in Tamriel (naturally) and provides a handful of devious rewards.

During the event, the number of daily Fence interactions increases by +100% and Fencing is 25% more profitable (that is, items sold to a Fence do so for 25% more gold). Additionally, Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild daily quests provide an additional box of their normal rewards (excepting the “infinite” repeatable ones from Kari’s Tip Board and Elam’s Marked for Death book).

Furthermore, the activities of pickpocketing, theft from safeboxes, and looting Thieves’ Troves have a chance to drop a Pouch of Ill-Gotten Goods. The pouches can contain saleable contraband, furnishings, Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild consumables, a NEW consumable item to improve your Legerdemain skill, and a very small chance to find a one million gold bounty pardon (for you extra careless or uncaring criminals).

Your chance of finding a Pouch of Ill-Gotten Goods is proportional to your current level of Bounty and Heat. That is, an upstanding citizen has a very low chance of getting one, but a fugitive on the run has a much better chance at getting one.

There are NO Event Tickets or bespoke quests for this event. You needn’t budget your playtime or behavior around chasing any fragments for this one, so enjoy it while it lasts.

First Stages of Console Add-on Support
In preparation of console add-on support coming later this year, we are testing a few pre-emptive measures during this the update 45 PTS to ensure add-on developers have the tools they need when working to support their add-ons for console players. There will now be a gamepad version of the add-on manager.

A new UserSetting.txt entry will allow add-on developers to place the game into console mode. This will prevent loading any keyboard/PC specific files and fonts, load console only files, and expose new console specific APIs. The main purpose of this is to allow add-on developers a way to develop and test console add-ons without needing a console.

With this, developers can get a jump on creating and testing console add-ons so that when the feature proper goes live, they'll be able to upload them right away. Please note that console add-on support will only be for current generation consoles, as they can support the memory limitation needed.
